The Power of Commitment and Alignment
I was sitting on my deck last night reading the news that the great company I work for was named one of the Healthiest in Rhode Island. Great accomplishment for a team that launched a structured wellness program at the beginning of the year. We are being recognized for our focus and commitment to wellness.... that in itself is a mile stone.
Rewind to a year ago. I accepted the position of CHRO. You have grand plans, you share those plans, and most times ...with new ideas you meet resistance. NOT HERE.....
The thought I want all of you to ponder is this.....It is still really simple to get things done, no matter what size the organization is. We can choose to accept no when we encounter some push back and headwinds. BUT....If you gain the commitment of the leadership, and align with your Mission, Vision, and Values..great things happen. The imperatives are still the same as they were at the beginning of time.
1.Lead with passion: Everyone will follow
2. Communicate the Why and then do it over and over again
3. Recognize the individual, and collective efforts of your diversity of team
4. Don't be afraid to fail...The lessons and leanings that come from this are invaluable.
5. Lastly, would you have fun for Pete's sake..Who does not want to laugh?
Do these things and you are an "Employer of Choice" Thanks to all of the great partners and associates of OSJL...
